School Information
1. School begins at 9.30am.
2. School finishes at 2.10pm for the junior and senior infants and for all other classes at 3.10pm.
Children must wear their Uniform on all school days, unless told otherwise.
3 Old shoes/tracksuit can be left in school to play on the field or when training.
4 Children must enter and leave the school only through the exit door appointed to their class.
5 At no time do pupils play at the front or side of the school. When arriving in the morning, all pupils must go directly to the school yard and remain there until the bell goes.
6 Children must obey the rules made by the teachers on duty regarding the use of the playing field, especially during the winter and during wet periods. No climbing on trees or walls is allowed. No pupil should swing out of the goal posts.
7 During inclement weather, pupils must stay in their classroom and remain seated. A selection of games is available in each classroom for such days. The teacher on duty will patrol the classrooms and senior students will help with junior classes.
8 Children must never run within the school building except during P.E. lesson in the G.P room.
9 A note from parents is necessary when:
A. Pupil has been absent.
B. A child has been late.
C. A pupil has to leave during school hours.
10 Nobody leaves the school grounds during school hours except with the Principals permission. No pupil is allowed to leave unless a parent/guardian/ notified adult collects them.
11 Children are expected to behave properly when partaking in school related events away fro the school itself i.e. school tours, sports events, concerts etc.
12. Lunches are normally eaten in the classroom. Children must leave the classroom as soon as they are finished. On a wet day, the infant classes may remain in their classroom. There is adequate space for the others in the corridors. (All children are now allowed remain in classrooms).
13.Children are expected to keep all school premises and playgrounds litter-free.
14. Children are not allowed on school property after school is closed.
15. All children must have a contact number in the event of sickness or accident. Teachers are not available to bring sick children home. *These numbers are regularly updated.
16.Crisps, sweets or chewing gum may not be eaten within the school buildings or playgrounds, as part of our schools’ healthy eating policy. A small treat (ie 2 biscuits, small snack bar is allowed on Wednesdays.)
17. Pupils can avail of water in the school. Please give your child a plastic refillable bottle.

· Pale blue polo shirt/ plain shirt.
· Plain navy trousers/tracksuit bottoms with no lines, logos or writing.
(Boys or girls may wear trousers).
· Plain navy skirt or pinafore.
· Navy or white socks.(for skirts)
There are two options open to parents regarding the crest:
· A jumper or sweatshirt can be purchased for approx €20 from Gallant Embroidery with the school crest on it. (All sizes)
· You may bring your own choice of jumper or sweatshirt to Gallant Embroidery (Details below) and they will put on the crest for between €4 and €6.

The owner is Mrs. Bernie Bryant. She will be available to take orders from the middle of July and will facilitate parents as to the time they can call at etc… as her business is located at the rear of her house.
School year 08/09, school jumpers with crest will be available from Breda Rohan’s shop in Ferbane.
Please note parents that hoods with strings are not advisable as children can become entangled in play.
