Active Breaks 2019
About three weeks ago we started doing active breaks in school.Every day every class will stop working and get up to do some exercise for ten minutes each day. Each day we would watch a ten minute video of certain exercises and streches and we would follow them.It helped to strech out all the muscles in your legs and arms and helped you stay focused.

Super Swimmers 2018
On the 10th of April, we started swimming. Third to sixth classes go every year for six weeks.Everyone swims across the pool and are put into different groups according to their ability. The first group in the shallowest end are the beginners, in the middle are the amateurs and the deep end are the advanced. We go to Clara Pool every Tuesday until our six weeks are up. We all enjoy it very much!!
Our Favourite Rose
On Monday the 16th of April we had a special visitor come to see us. It was no other than Jennifer Byrne the current Rose Of Tralee. She spent ten minutes in every classroom. She was wearing her sash and tiara. She got a picture with every class. She was extremely tall compared to all the children! Jennifer was visiting different primary schools all over Offaly, but our school was a special visit as she has two cousins in pullough school, Leah and Ryan Taylor. Some people from the community came to the hall for tea and a chat. Everyone had a great time!!
Pullough vs Tullamore E.T.N.S.
On Tuesday the 20th of March 2018, our girl's school team had their first match. We were playing against Tullamore Educate Together N.S.
In the first half we didn't really show our talents and at half time it was a draw 2-2 to 2-2! We started off the second half well and were leading by 2 goals when the other team, to their credit, came back and scored 2 goals.
By the end of the match we were sure we had the lead and won the match 5-6 to 4-4!!
Well done girls!!!
Our next match is on the 18th of April where we will play Bracknagh.

Theatre Group Puts a Spell on the Children of St Marys!!!
The West Midlands Childrens Theatre Group came to our school and performed a show called Wizard William. It was very funny and our school really enjoyed it.It was about a Sorcerer who is in the process of learning to become a good apprentice! The Sorcerer who trains him has to do an important spell to turn the Queen into a Ballerina for her birthday. But disaster strikes when the apprentice "accidentally" drops a spider into the potion and turns the Queen into a bag of sugar!! The King finds out and they all work together to change the Queen into a ballerina!! Everybody loved it !!!
On Wednesday 18th of October , we had our annual Breakfast Morning . All our Cheerios were provided by Childline. All the children from Juniors to Sixth ate all their toast and Cheerios. A few parents from the Parents Association helped out by serving up the breakfast delights.
We started our yearly reading programme called Reading Buddies. Reading Buddies is where a person from fourth , fifth or sixth gets paired with a child from first first , second or third and they read together. The older child helps and supports the younger child's reading throughout the month. It is a great experience for both the younger and the older children.
