April 2021 With all that has happened (Covid and closures etc..) since we established our garden two years ago, we are thrilled at how well it is looking. All thanks to the pupils, staff and all the support from the Tidy towns group and our own PA. When Sr Brigid left to return to America she wrote to us and sent us a donation to use for our garden so our new corner near the new pedestrian exit is called Gairdín Bhríde in her honour. This year we have planted cabbages. strawberries and potatoes so far. Our first and second classes have also painted rocks and these have been placed in the garden and look amazing. Later this year we will plant more beds and maintain and monitor what's planted!

Last year we made a super start to our new school garden. Along with the PA, Tidy Towns, Men's Shed, Community Groups and our Artist, Expert Paddy Madden and the ETB we cleaned, set out beds and even came second in the Credit Union School Garden Competition. Not bad for year one! Our Mosaic (pictured above) is stunning and lives beautifully in our garden alongside our herb wheel, wildflower bed, vegetable beds, trees, window boxes and borders.
In November the seniors from 3rd-6th worked alongside the PA and Tidy Towns volunteers to clean out the vegetable and flower boxes and paint tyres for the snowman. A great fun learning day.
April 2020 Now of course we are away from our garden when we would be planting and weeding and watering! Bridie is keeping an eye of it for us and has sent some pics to remind us that it is growing as best it can without us and will be there when we can get back safely.
May 18th 2020 This week teachers are allowed to collect more books etc.. to plan your work. While Ms White and Ms Mc Guinness were there doing some office work they took some pictures to put up for you of how well all looks in our garden. Many thanks to all who are minding it for us all while we are away. We appreciate all the support and love the great scarecrows. 😎👏👍
We also have two new areas of interest - a new pallet bed and a new flower bed in the corner.
